Nlo I̽ske Vrët (/nlo/ /ˈi̽ske/ [turquoise] [carriage; cart]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Ëkkuv Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Nlo I̽ske Vrët is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Nlo I̽ske Vrët was founded by Yärméō Sénvér 'Honey Dani' Ca̋nḱ Rawmpf̄̌sh Mēsh Unzabu, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Nlo I̽ske Vrët has a yearly average temperature of 6°C (42°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool -11°C (13°F). Nlo I̽ske Vrët receives an average of 296 cm/y (116 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Nlo I̽ske Vrët covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 4050 m (13287 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Nlo I̽ske Vrët was founded durring the early 12th century in spring of the year 1115, by Yärméō Sénvér 'Honey Dani' Ca̋nḱ Rawmpf̄̌sh Mēsh Unzabu. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Nlo I̽ske Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the early 12th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Nlo I̽ske Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Nlo I̽ske Vrët is buildings are located arround a single crampt cobblestone mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Nlo I̽ske Vrët's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The town's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall are visibly old, but also obviously well maintained. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with routine mantance of the town's defences.

A look around Nlo I̽ske Vrët gives you an uneasy feeling. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. A second look around Nlo I̽ske Vrët makes it abundantly clear the town suffered something horrible some time ago. It's as if the town itself is depressed. Smiles are few, cheer is nowhere to be had.

Civic Infrastructure

Cultural Notes

Nlo I̽ske Vrët's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by grandeur of scale, simplicity of geometric forms, dramatic use of columns, and a preference for blank walls. This design ethos extended to re-imagining earlier styles of structure to create them anew, with a similar overall look and feel to one another..

In Nlo I̽ske Vrët snow is warm to the touch and does not melt within city limits. Also it only happens during summer.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Nlo I̽ske Vrët was attacked by savage tribes living nearby Nlo I̽ske Vrët. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Nlo I̽ske Vrët lost 254 people, 262 livestock, and 93 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 120, when members of Nlo I̽ske Vrët's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific warchest to a particular strategic location unharmed. The operation was complicated by a trusted officer who turned traitor and defects. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the strategic location, which ended in a stalemate for Nlo I̽ske Vrët's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Nlo I̽ske Vrët's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
